| South Street has been together since 1989. The band is based out of Gardner, MA and has its roots solidly established in North Central MA. The band was originally formed as a country rock band but in the early 90’s converted primarily to 70's and 80's classic dance rock. The band's repertoire covers 5 decades of music. Noted for its strong 3 and 4 part harmonies, diverse song list, powerful sound, and ability to have fun with the crowd, South Street has become one the areas premiere bands performing 50+ shows a year for more than 10 years. Collectively its members bring over 75 years of musical experience to the stage. Ken Farnham: Vocals, Keyboards, Synthesizer Bill Chaban: Vocals, Guitar Jay Dyer: Vocals, Bass Rick Rameau: Backup vocals, Drums, Percussion If you like to have fun and you like to dance, The South Street Band is who you want to party with. Lead by the vocal antics of Bill Chaban, the crowd is persuaded to dance and it doesn’t stop until the show is over. Just when you think you can take a break the next song starts and you can’t help but want to dance some more. The musical flow is controlled by Ricky, who keeps the pace hopping and ensures the energy level remains high. Add the musical and vocal talents of Ken and Jay to the mix and its none stop classic rock dance fever. Tony V our sound guy makes sure the sound is clean and crisp. The rest is up to you! The South Street Band prides itself in its sound and stage presence. The sound has a raw but well refined edge to it. Our music has been referred to as "Just good old fashioned, in your face, live rock n roll." We enjoy the show as much as the patrons and put everything we have into bringing a professional product to the table.
